Jawaabta:

Basically, an oath must be taken by the name of Allah or one of His attributes.
If an oath is taken by the Quran, it is not permissible to take an oath by anything other than what has been mentioned.
When people place their hands on the Quran or the book of the Quran and then swear,
that oath is the same as swearing by Allah’s Quran, and they are doing so by strengthening the oath they have taken.
Similarly, a person cannot place their hands on a book other than the Quran when taking an oath,
and it is not a requirement for a person to place their hands on the Quran when taking an oath. An oath by Allah does not require that.
Ibn al-Karaabi, one of the Muslim scholars, said, speaking about placing the Holy Quran in one’s hand when taking an oath:
(It is an innovation that did not emerge from the companions of the Shafi’i scholars. They have cleared it)
If a person who is taking an oath swears falsely, it is a major sin, and his reward is Hellfire. He must repent for that sin.
There is disagreement about whether expiation is required or not.
